What could possibly be a better use of a Thursday evening than going to Kensington to engage in liberal sampling of ten different cuvées of wonderful, plentiful premier cru Champagne?
How about… doing so while engaging in witty banter with the ineffable and irrepressible Julian White, while also having your most pressing questions about the winemaking process answered by the master vigneron himself, Grand Conseil’s Maître des Ambassades, Philippe Brugnon?
Those lucky enough to snap up these hotly-contested tickets will also have the opportunity to swap vintage tasting notes with our Ambassadeur Justin Rhodes, enjoy delectable canapés and pose for glamorous photos with friends and family, and secure an exclusive discount on Champagnes to take home to stock their own cellars.
The ten Champagnes being shown with are:
- Brut NV (65% pinot noir, 30% chardonnay, 5% pinot meunier)
- Brut Rosé (100% pinot noir, 2019 harvest)
- Cuvée Élégance (70% chardonnay, 30% pinot noir, 2021 harvest)
- Bruts Millésimes 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2018 (70% chardonnay, 30% pinot noir)
- Cuvée Zac 2015 (70% chardonnay, 30% pinot noir)
- Cuvée Crysta Blanc de Blancs 2015 and 2016 (100% chardonnay)
Philippe Brugnon’s grows his grapes in two premier cru vineyards on the Montagne de Reims (Rilly-la-Montagne and Ecueil). Julian has been his UK agent for around 40 years. For those who haven’t been before, rest assured that Julian and Philippe go to significant efforts to ensure this really is the greatest (and best value) Champagne party in London.
A discount of £50 per order of £500 or more will be applied to orders placed on the night. Please note that the Champagne is packed in cases of six bottles, and orders must therefore be in multiples of six of one cuvée—cases cannot be mixed.
