On Saturday 16th September, we descended upon the tranquil canalside village of Stoke Bruerne, where our Connétable for Northamptonshire & Bedfordshire, Andrew Woodward, hosted one of his famous biannual sabrage dinners at The Boat Inn, an historic pub and restaurant that has been in his family for several generations (learn more here).
The evening kicked off with an idyllic sunset Champagne reception, during which two members were promoted to Chevalier and over a dozen other guests performed Novice Sabrage.
When the sun finally set, we made our way to Woodward’s Restaurant for a superb four-course dinner, during and after which we were serenaded by the Lincoln Noel Jazz Trio.
Booking is now open for the 2024 dinners at The Boat Inn (Herald of Spring on Saturday 6th April and End of Summer on Saturday 14th September). These dinners are not to be missed and always sell out quickly, so get in touch with Andrew, or check out the Confrérie page on his website, if you’re interested in learning more!
