Why affiliate?
There are all sorts of benefits to becoming a Caveau de Sabrage. Here are the top three reasons given by some of our most active Caveaux:
Guests
The Confrérie du Sabre d’Or is a global society full of members of all ages, genders, and backgrounds, united by a love of good food, Champagne, and, of course, sabrage. Members are fun-loving, friendly, and happy to travel to meet other members and experience new venues. So if you own or work for a hospitality venue hoping to hold an event, the Confrérie du Sabre d’Or is an excellent source of potential guests!
Publicity
Sabrage events hosted by our Caveaux are featured on our calendar of events. We also promote them via our mailing list and social media channels. Caveaux also have the opportunity to place advertisements in our annual journal, The Golden Sabre. If you’re looking for ways to generate publicity for your venue or event, we can certainly help you out.
Inspiration
As a Caveau of the Confrérie du Sabre d’Or, you join a network of other venues dedicated to hosting the very finest Champagne-fuelled events. This provides you with an unparalleled opportunity to learn from other Caveaux, to give you inspiration for events at your own venue.
What does it cost?
The setup cost for a new Caveau is currently £1,100. This covers:
- an official Confrérie du Sabre d’Or Champagne sabre, engraved with the name of your venue
- a Caveau de Sabrage sign for you to display
- the training of your nominated Maître-Sabreur (sabrage instructor) and a deputy
- the promotion of your Maître-Sabreur to the rank of Chevalier of the Confrérie du Sabre d’Or, and investiture with the relevant regalia
- 50 Novice Sabrage packs (consisting of certificates, lapel badges, and velvet pouches for corks), so that you can appoint your staff or guests as Novices
- 50 physical copies of our annual journal (The Golden Sabre)
- inclusion in the map of Caveaux on our website, and in the list in The Golden Sabre
- the first year’s membership fees
In subsequent years, annual membership is just £150, which qualifies you for another 50 Novice Sabrage packs and copies of The Golden Sabre.
