Shortly after getting back from France, we returned to the Millennium Gloucester for our annual general meeting and summer party. The former was even more efficient than usual, lasting no more than six minutes, as our Ambassador had distributed papers of business in advance. He announced that he would be reappointing his Council, and Julian congratulated him on an excellent first year in office. The meeting concluded with goodwill and cheer, and we wasted no time in getting down to the serious business of drinking Champagne, catching up with friends, and dancing the night away.
